We have been so busy lately, between the holidays, birthdays, and homeschooling, that trying to find the time to work on this project has been a little challenging. We are very thankful for our brother-in-law helping out for several weekends. Lifting those posts and beams was definitely a challenge for a one man job. So Brad really appreciated the extra hand.
Taking Measurements
Here are several pictures of all the framework. We will be putting stairs on this side corner of the deck.
Wrapping around.....
And then it will angle again on this corner that Brad is standing on. This part of the deck will cross over the flower garden.
This is the front of the house. (Right now you can see the temporary bracings.) The deck will start at the back, go along the side, and all along the front here. Eventually we will continue the deck the whole way around the house. Some more projects that we want to work on, is putting some more big flat rocks all along the front of the house to finish a stone patio. and of course siding, which Brad wants to cut with the saw mill as well.
Here are the kids gathering some more stones and rocks for underneath the porch.

Gathering more rocks!
And they even look like like they are enjoying it :)
This little girl is like a monkey! We are looking forward to putting a log cabin up sometime this year. Hopefully in the spring/summer. I will keep you posted!
