For our Dog study the children and I enjoyed going to the pet store and picking out some treats for our Dogs. We got Bradford's dog, Scamp a new collar, and we got both Ginger and Scamp a new chew toy. We also took a trip to the Windham County Humane Society. We all enjoyed visiting the many dogs there. And enjoyed a little presentation about some of their Dogs. We learned about the many different kinds and breeds of Dogs. The children each drew a picture of their favorite Dog and the older children each wrote a paragraph about Dogs. We talked about Dog Breeding and how to take care of your Dog.(Garret & Jackson enjoyed learning how to brush the Dogs.) For History we learned about Dwight D. Eisenhower, our 34th president. We also enjoyed going to the library. While we were there we listened to the librarian read some great Dog stories, made some cute Dog crafts, and enjoyed some great snacks. We brought many Dog themed stories back home with us to enjoy reading for the rest of the week. For Science we worked on some plant books including Daffodils and some other "D" flowers. The children enjoyed making many different "D" objects from modeling clay, and had fun Drawing some Dogs this week. For snack time the children enjoyed Debbie cakes, Dill pickles, Doritoes, Danishes, and Daddy surprised us all one morning with Dunkin Doughnuts :) I enjoyed playing Dolls with my girls this week. And the big surprise was finding out that our Dog, Ginger is going to have puppies again!
