CUTTS KIDS-2015

CUTTS KIDS-2015

"A" is for Apple Week

We started off to a great week of school! The children are using the Abeka Math and Language Arts textbooks this year. For Science we purchased an Ant Habitat and the children enjoyed studying and learning about Ants. They each wrote a paragraph about Ants. We also did a study on Apples as well and looked at the many different kinds and their uses. We took a field trip to the Green Mountain Apple Orchards for our Apple study and the children were able to learn how to make Apple cider. They each wrote about their Adventures to the orchard. At home they learned how to make Applesauce and Apple pies We also enjoyed reading about Johny Appleseed. For History we read some books about Abraham Lincoln and the children wrote paragraphs and book reports on him. This week the children tried their skills with finger painting, drawing, modeling, making an Alphabet Book, a map of vermont displaying all of the 'A' landmarks, a tri-fold poster project of their trip to the orchard and many numerous Apple themed snacks. Including Ants on a log :)
